Specialties and Surgical Oncology Approach
Gynecologic oncology combines cancer medicine with advanced surgical training. Dr. Costales considers the cancer type, stage, pathology, overall health, and fertility priorities when planning care. Treatment may involve surgery, chemotherapy, HIPEC, or coordination with radiation oncology. Patients can prepare by bringing pathology reports, imaging, operative records, medication lists, and a detailed family cancer history.
